To Arvada and beyond…

The G (‘Gold’) Line is a commuter rail line that serves the northwest Denver metro area, including the cities of Arvada and Wheat Ridge. The 11 mile route opened in April 2019 and trains take 27 minutes to cover its length. From Union Station, the alignment is shared with the B Line until Pecos Junction after which it swings west.
Map & Schedule

The G Line operates from 4:30am to 12am, 7 days a week. Frequency is 30 minutes at all times.
The route initially operated with a 15 minute frequency service during the day; this was cut back to 30 minutes in April 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then ridership has steadily recovered and there are now calls to reinstate the 15 minute frequency service.
Vehicles Used

The G line is operated with Hyundai Rotem ‘Silverliner V’ 2-car multiple units. Due to platform lengths, trains cannot be currently lengthened. It requires three trains to operate the 30 minute frequency service.
The line is electrified at 25kV 60Hz AC throughout.

Note: Partial year figures for 2019 as the G Line opened in April that year.
Olde Town Arvada

The G Line includes along its route one of the best destinations on the entire RTD transit system at Olde Town Arvada Station, which is much more than a transit stop – it’s a thoughtfully designed multimodal hub, a gateway to community life, and a catalyst for growth in Arvada’s historic heart. Within seconds of getting off the train, you can be in the middle of a walkable community which features shops, bars, restaurants and other amenities.
Extension to Downtown Golden

An extension to Downtown Golden has long been proposed as RTD owns the right-of-way, however the project is not included in the FasTracks plan.
