Current Issues
This route suffers from poor scheduling at 40th & Colorado Station, here buses are timed to depart exactly as westbound A Line trains arrive. This creates a potentially dangerous situation where passengers attempting to catch buses will be crossing the commuter rail tracks in a hurry and may ignore warning devices.
Future Plans
The System Optimization Plan proposes to split the route into two 30 minute frequency routes overlapping to provide 15 minute frequency service between University Station and Hampden Avenue.
Route 24N will run between 40th & Colorado Station and Hampden Avenue while Route 24S will run between University Station to the current terminus at C-470 & University and then be extended through Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree to Lincoln Station.
