Route 20, ’20th Avenue’, runs from Denver Union Station to Colfax / Billings via 17th, 18th and 20th avenues.

Route 20 operates 7 days a week. Frequency is generally 30 minutes throughout the day, dropping to 60 minutes in the evenings. During the weekday peaks, some trips are extended west to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden.

The route is operated by RTD using Gillig 40ft Low Floor Transit Buses from East Metro, Denver.

Current Issues
This route suffers from poor scheduling at ? Station, here buses are timed to depart 3 minutes before W Line trains arrive.
Future Plans
The System Optimization Plan proposes to split the route in two. Existing trips between Union Station and Colfax / Billings will remain as Route 20E, while trips west of Denver will run as part of route 20W between Decatur – Federal Station and Lakewood – Wadsworth Station via 17th and 20th avenues.
